R5 5600x vs i7 10700KF

Hello forum,

In an ideal situation, if u can find the both CPUs in stock and in same price, i7 10700kf for 305$ and R5 5600x for 325$. Which one will you get and why for a new system? All the features, TDP, power consumption wont help me decide on which one should i pull the trigger. I want to game with high refresh rates and i wont upgrade again for atleast 3-4 years so which one will perform better till i upgrade again ?

Thanks a lot, in advance

Well, this could be tough.
They trade blows and they both seem excellent CPUs.
There is one thing that could make me buy the i7 if it was priced at MSRP: 2 more cores and 4 more threads. This could be the key for future proofing.
Other than that, RIGHT NOW I'd choose the Ryzen... IF I could find it at the right price, that is!

Jayz has done a video comparing the two -

They trade blows

Ryzen - 5600x

- single core performance

- PCIE gen 4.0

- more options ref boards (b450,B550,X570)

- TDP 65w

Intel - 10700k
- Multicore perfomance

- gen 3.0 only

- TDP 125w

Ive been intel for a long time but just got a 5600x and not regretting it

Folding Stats

SYSTEM SPEC

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | Motherboard Asus Strix B550i | RAM 32gb 3200 Crucial Ballistix | GPU Nvidia RTX 3070 Founder Edition | Cooling Barrow CPU/PUMP Block, EKWB Vector GPU Block, Corsair 280mm Radiator | Case NZXT H1 | Storage Sabrent Rocket 2tb, Samsung SM951 1tb

PSU NZXT S650 SFX Gold | Display Acer Predator XB271HU | Keyboard Corsair K70 Lux | Mouse Corsair M65 Pro

Sound Logitech Z560 THX | Operating System Windows 10 Pro

i've seen his video they are really on par. My main concern is will 6c/12t be enough in the future. Also the 320 price point seems quite wrong for an 6core X part sku but the perfomance is still better than last gen 3600x.

i was originally going for a 5800x for the 8/16, so it is more future proof. but then i usually upgrade my  system every 2-3 years so by the time games us more the 6 cores it will be time to upgrade anyway

From a value perspective what to you thing is a better pick. Cause Jay is comparing them with a 50$+ price difference
