So I just installed a 500GB SSD on my laptop which means it made my laptop much faster but i'm thinking that the 1TB HDD will be wasted because I originally needed 1TB SSD but due to budget shortage, I just went to 500GB.

So I am planning to install a Caddy on my laptop to utilize my HDD and also to future-proof my laptop's storage size but i'm wondering:

Does mixing an SSD with an HDD can affect loading speeds like will it make my laptop have slightly slower loading speeds than just having a pure SSD instead?

Whatever's stored on the HDD will obviously be accessed slower than what's stored on the SSD. An HDD being there doesn't slow down accessing what's on the SSD though of course.

The loading speeds of things you have put on the HDD will be affected, as the HDD is slower, but it will be faster than using it as a boot drive, my old laptop HDD was like 80MB/s when I had the OS on it, right now I'm using it for storage, and it is about 130MB/s. The stuff you put on the SSD will stay the same speed.

It depends, if you put your operating sytem on the ssd it will boot fast same thing with softwares, if you install the software on the ssd it will launch and load quick. But if you put your operatisg sysem on the hdd it will be useless it still gonna be slow. I recomend to install your windows on the ssd, or if your operating windows was on your hdd try to migrate it.
