You can replace you current HDD with an SSD and you can place your HDD in a USB enclosure

I can't keep my HDD as is and add SSD? Also if I can't then do you have a video or something that could tell me how I'm supposed to place my HDD in a USB enclosure? Thanks

Adding storage won't make your computer faster, but if you replace that HDD with an SSD it will.

Can I not have both?

If your laptop has an optical drive you can replace the optical drive with a caddy to fit the SSD in.  The USB enclosure is nothing weird just a box with a sata port you just slide the drive in and screw it in place.

For example my laptop has a m2 slot, a sata port and an optical drive. My boot drive is the m2 and I have an HDD on the sata port and another identical HDD in place on the optical drive. The HDD drives are configured in the software Raid0 for speed.
