Does ram needs to be compatible with gpu?

Go to solution Solved by Kanna,

That sounds ridiculous it鈥檚 nit true the 960 will work fine with your stuff, they might mean bottleneck which you won鈥檛 get but you should try get 16GB ddr3

im planning to buy a gtx 960(im broke馃槥) and i saw in a forum that a gpu needs to be compatible with a ram to work i have a8 6600k and聽Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-S1 mobo and i have a ddr3 2x4gb 800mhz ram is it going to work or a ram needs to be compatible with gpu in order to work isnt a thing?

edit: my ram is 1600mhz but cpu z says its only 800 idk why

thanks but i tested it with a bottleneck calc online its only 0.89%聽https://pc-builds.com/calculator/A8-6600K_APU/GeForce_GTX_960/0vo0Oe/聽 so its not going to bottleneck

No, there wont' be a compatibility issue with the gpu, it works independently.

You can buy any gpu / ram that you like.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750聽| 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull聽| Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

No. it hs to be compatible with motherboard, but im 100% sure it will be compatible with your board
