Steps to Reproduce/What were you doing before it happened?

Browsing the forums regularly. Posted the Status Update from the Profile page.

What happened?

After I posted the Status Update on my Profile page, I noticed a large blank space and a "Read More" at the bottom of the Status Update. Thought it odd, as I did not add any more lines after the resized.GIF (748522849593196585.gif).

The blank space appears in the Status Update on both my Profile page and in the Status Update Activity Stream, but not on the dedicated Status Update page (unsure what it's called, sorry) or in the Status Update's Edit screen.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected to post a short Status Update, without a blank space added to the post. Especially since I haven't noticed this happening with other people's Status Updates. 🤔

Any other relevant details:

Immediately after I posted the Status Update, the Status Update's embedded pictures appeared as gray rectangles and wouldn't load on the current page (no issues with WiFi or PC either). I opened up my Profile on another tab to confirm that the Status Update posted correctly (it did), but the tab from which I wrote up and posted the Status Update from still wouldn't load. I yeeted the tab and don't have a screenshot of this page, sorry. 😅

Basically, computing the correct size of images before they've loaded, to be able to figure out the show more button, and making that solution work on all screen sizes, is hard, and the IPS solution doesn't work properly. The only thing I can do for now is turn it off entirely, but I'm not sure if it's worth doing that.
