Showing off my new PC

Earendil

Hello Everyone!

Its been a while (10+ years) since I had built a PC(non-gaming) and was outdated with the technology that is around. I found Linus Tech Tips and after catching up with technology, bought the parts for my first gaming build.

The purpose of my PC will be CAD work (SW, Inventor, PTC Creo), maybe some FEA simulations, some Matlab programming and gaming. Also  I t received either the Ram or the GPU, but was excited to put it together and share.

Here is a list of the parts I chose: (Some parts were chosen due to budget restrictions with an eye towards upgradability (ie: CPU) and for the GPU...well...everyone knows the current affair of things.

Cooler Master MB520 Mid-Tower Case

Asus ROG Strix B550-E chipset (I needed that wifi)

Ryzen 7 3700X CPU

G-Skill TridentZ (2x8Gb) 3200 Ram

WD SN550 NVMe 1Tb SSD

MSI MAG Core AIO 360 mm

Seasonic Focus GM-750, 750 W PSU

Asus TUF GTX 1650 GPU

Also, some might notice that my "build table" is my dogs crate. Its the only place in the house where I don't have carpet. I generate a lot of ESD. I actually got shocked when taking the case out of the box. (I did wear rubber shoes and a ESD band connected to the case while building) lol
