New PC build. Need feedback on hardware.

MrWote

So, i'm about to build a new PC. I have found the hardware I want, but I would like some feedback on the parts chosen. (money is not an issue, this is running around 2000 USD in my country.)

Motherboard: GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ULTRA

Case: Corsair Crystal 680X RGB

AIO: NZXT Kraken Z73 RGB CPU

Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4-3600 C18 QC - 32GB

PSU: Corsair RM850i PSU - 850 Watt

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2070S Aorus 8GB (moved from previous build)

Drives: 1TB WD black nvme (and some other drives)

Usecase for the PC is everything basicly. Gaming, video editing, photo editing, programming, streaming etc.

I would recommend you get a 5800X instead of an 5900X, even for video editing and streaming the 5800X is perfect. You could put the savings from that into a different ram kit that is 3600 C16 instead of 3600 C18

SPEC LIST:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X w/ NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm Liquid Cooler
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) 5000MHz CL18
  • Motherboard: MSI MEG X570 Godlike
  • SSD: Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 1TB (x3)
  • PSU: Corsair AX1600i
  • Case: NZXT H710
  • Monitor: Alienware AW2521H 25inch 360Hz 1ms

This build has three incompatible rgb lighting systems. If you want to be able to sync all of the lighting I'd suggest switching the motherboard to an Asus model and the aio to a Corsair iCUE compatible model.

DDR4-3600 CL16 +1

850W is much more capacity than needed. 650W is more than enough and allows for a future gpu upgrade. I'd suggest https://www.proshop.dk/Stroemforsyning/Corsair-RM650x-2018-Stroemforsyning-650-Watt-140-mm-80-Plus-Gold-certified/2659783.

I'm pretty hooked on the 5900x, I forgot to mention that I run alot at the same time, aswell as run game servers. The ram tip is very useful. thanks!

I'll change the motherboard to the first one you linked. Also changing the PSU 🙂  I'll keep the current cooler, since I really like the display for monitoring the CPU temps. Thanks for the feedback!

I'd recommend steering away from that RM850i and going for something like a Seasonic GX-850 or maybe an EVGA 850 G5.

(The reason why is because I've found CWT power supplies aren't very reliable, for example, I had an RM850x fail on me about a week ago)

FYI, Asus is showing Ryujin II coolers with 3.5 inch displays, https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/asus-to-release-rog-ryujin-ii-240-lcshas-3-5-inch-lcd-mounted.html
