So I just build a brand new PC and can't seem to get the stupid motherboard drivers to install. The board is Asus rog strix b550-f I've downloaded the drivers directly off there website and I made sure to grab the 64 bit driver which is all they have listed anyways and yes I have 64 bit windows 10 but Everytime I try to install them I get "does not support this operating system: wnt_10.0p_64" I've tried everything I can think of including reinstalling the os

Are you sure you're starting the correct setup.exe-file? Some drivers contain different setup.exe's and you have to start the right one.

What you describe also happens with my motherboard and it's drivers if I start the wrong setup.exe-file.

Yes the lab ones actually only have one setup file and it won't work no matter what I try

Have you tried updating Windows to the latest drivers and revision, then try and install the drivers??? Perhaps the drivers are only good on a certain Windows version such as 1909 or 20H2.

Search for "winver" in Windows and open it. It tells you what version and build you're running. You might already have the latest 20H2.

Also what drivers are you even trying to install? (link?)

And how do you do that if no Lan drivers?

I know that there are options for this, just curious, it sounded to me like you're trying to install chipset drivers, but that doesn't seem to be the case necessarily?

So the issue is you have no LAN drivers? That would be quite odd because windows usually installs all necessary drivers by itself, except gpu drivers, I guess.

Thats my point tho how else would you get internet... I'm pretty sure Media creation tool installs the drivers as that's apparently essential. I never had no internet connection after installing windows from USB stick.

If you're running it on the same machine you're going to install I believe it does, but if not you only get the generic drivers (and the ones for the machine you made the media on, which might be of no help). Those should work in the vast majority of cases but if you've got an exotic/bastard piece of hardware then there might not be any drivers for that in the standard image.

For example on any machine from the past 10 years I've installed W10 on WiFi works out of the box... but not on my laptop that has garbage "killer" wifi shit... once connected it downloads and installs the driver for it on its own.
