Help force main GPU usage on dual GPU laptop

Hey, I've gotten an old ASUS U36S with intel hd graphics and a GT 610M. I've installed the proprietary NVIDIA drivers on my laptop but by some motive the IGPU is being used instead of the GT610M

I'm using Debian 10 with XFCE, any way to force the GT usage?

Edit: it’s not a BIOS thing

Xserver settings by some motive doesn't run and when I try the "   nvidia-settings    " command, it says that " An internal driver error occurred"

have you tried the " sudo X -configure " command?

it looks like you have the same issue as https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/nvidia-xconfig-doesnt-do-what-i-want-it-to-nor-does-nvidia-settings/107883

"Generix" has a config change which should give you access back to nvidia settings.
