GPU Power LIMIT warning in MSI Afterburner

Hi friends.U just got this info while playing Far Cry New Dawn.

Isn’t faulty but is running out of power. But almost all do that stock if they aren’t too hot. 
Nothing to worry about.

Not "running out of power", just hitting the max power it's programmed not to exceed.

No, very different things. Running out suggests you're not supplying enough but that's not what happens at all, it just won't take more because it's set not to.

The card wants more, thats why theres a warning. Thus if the limit wasnt set it would use what it wants, what it needs. Its running out.

That's the point, his post is misleading because there is no way you can besides increasing the power limit in Afterburner to the max it lets you go to.

I could turn on OC profile in gpu tweak and boost it to 2010 MHz.

But this only happen n FC New Dawn I deleted the game...no matter guys.it's okay,

Again there was never anything wrong.

Boosting GPU clock will make the power limit reached quicker.

2x8 pins which are connected can provide up to 300 W, correct.

So max power should not be limited, I hooked up both 8 pins so card can take enough currwet up to 300W of power.

So then whu does it display power limit warning?

Am I misunderstanding smth?

Around 250 w is max power under heavy load.

saying the card wants more is misleading. The card is "capable" of pulling more, and it needs more to run at a higher clock, not that it wants more. 
More power will put more stress on the transistors, and be more power to cool, and it not even efficient, ie. 5-10% more power for 1-2% more performance.

It does not want more.

sure, 2x8 pins is rated at 300+75. but that does not mean the card will be happy at 375W, or even 300W

the last two pins are there to load balance the power. Max power is a bios limit/current limit from the resistance. The higher the resistance the lower the max current, the lower the max power. You could have the 4x8pins and the max power draw of the card itself would be the same. 

you could hack your way into drawing more with either a vbios hack or a shunt resister (a resistor in parallel lowers resistence) however know that the rest of the card may not be rated for higher draw, like the VRMs or the power planes on the card and something may overheat and blow.
