Hi guys, good evening,

So I have a little question that I can't find a conclusive answer for.

I have a old Cooler Master HAF X and it has a front 230mm fan with LED, not RGB LED, old school one color LED.

It has 2 connectors, 1 3-pin for power to the fan, and 1 2-pin, that goes up to the front panel, to a button to turn de LED off.

I've done a much needed upgrade on my setup last month, and I'm new to the RGB mods, my new mobo is a TUF Gaming X570-PLUS and it has RGB headers, i know that the fan LED isn't RGB, but the only control that i have to it is the ON/OFF on the FP, can I plug this 2-pin on the RGB header so the mobo would control the green lighting of the fan? ou the pins won't match functions? The 2-pin connector and the headers on the mobo are exactly like the ones in the pictures.

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry about the broken english and the idiotic question lol.

No, you cannot. That old thing is a 12 Volt connector. It is meant to be controlled by the case only.

Either get a new Cooler Master 200 mm RGB fan or and LED strip and place it behind or around the fan.

You could use the 12 V RGB header but you will have to create your own plug for it.

I have recently replaced several of those fans with Noctua (non RGB) NF-A20 200 mm fans. I would suggest replacing your old fan(s) as well. The bearings are likely to be worn out by now.

Thanks for the answer, I'll do that.

Gonna search for replacements, but i have little faith that I'm going to find some good prices here in Brazil for good 230 and 200mm fans.

Sad.
