Ah, okay this makes sense. I wasn't aware that I needed another device to plug it into. In that case which one should I purchase?

Corsair LED fans have two wires on them. An RGB wire and a PWM wire.

The RGB wire is purely for the RGB, while the PWM wire is for speed control of the fan.

If you need to get the Commander Pro or Node Pro, depends on where you plan to plug in the PWM wire.

The Node Pro only does RGB, while the Commander Pro does PWM fan control too.

The way you plug them in would be like so:

Commander Pro:

(note the difference is the green wires, which is for PWM control).

Keep in mind you can't mix Corsair LED fans on one hub. Can't combine LL, SP, HD, etc. fans on one hub.

My fan hub just arrived today: CORSAIR RGB Fan LED Hub and I think I'm doing something wrong or need to buy something in order to make my fans, well, rgb. I plugged everything in that a tutorial I found said, but there seems to be a USB connector that I need or something of the sort. I don't know if this is the issue or if I need another part, but I want to figure it out so that I can have even more shiny lights in my PC haha

Do you have an USB connection on the board, a bit like for the case ports/power button but for USB and maybe marked on the board?

Else there is the corsair commander I think it's called, might be USB for that one too with sata power.

You have to plug that fan hub into SATA power and then into another RGB device, either the Node Pro or Commander Pro.

Do you have either of those two devices? (which need SATA power and USB to your motherboard).

Also keep in mind the fans needs to be plugged into plugs 1, 2, etc. in order (i.e. you can't skip 2 and go from 1 to 3).

The only reason I wasn't sure about this is because I thought I saw someone plug it directly into the motherboard with a type of usb cable, but that must have been something else.
