Changing GPU's From Another PC

ignBane

Hello, I'm recently building a new computer. I don't have a GPU to use at the moment, but I do have a pre-built. I was wondering If I could take the GPU from the pre-built and put it in the new computer. Also changing the cpu from intel to ryzen (if that effects anything). All I need to know Is that nothing will happen to the GPU.

Exactly.
There is not much more to it in this case.

It's unlikely that it won't work, but it won't hurt anything if it doesn't.

Keep in mind, comments like these are not actually hepful to the Author, especially when they continue to ask for additional detail.

The GPU and CPU will not become damaged when swaping parts between systems. You will likely need to uninstall any existing drivers on the PC you want to place the GPU into using DDU,  a free program that wipes graphics drivers to allow clean installation of new ones.

If the new PC is completely totally new, then there would be no drivers to uninstall and putting in the GPU from the prebuilt would be just fine. Make sure to plug your displays into the GPU, not the HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA on the back of the motherboard I/O, especially if your CPU is a Ryzen based as those ports wont work.

It will work fine. Games might be slower though moving to the 3700x.
