I can not currently boot my pc without the GPU being installed. I wish to disconnect it due to it causing my pc to crash when I select it as the adapter but my computer will not boot without it installed. My computer just continuously tries to turn on for half a second spinning the fans before shutting off, and keeps doing this until I hold down the power buttons or flip the PSU switch. I am currently running on integrated graphics, which are working fine.
Specs:
CPU: i5-4690

GPU:R9 390
mobo:ASROCK Fatal1ty Z97 Killer
PSU:TPD-0750M
pls help

Did you clear the CMOS by removing the battery for 5 minutes?

Is your integrated graphics card disabled in BIOS possibly?

I have it set to run on integrated graphics and am plugged into my motherboard now, although I'm not sure if it's possible that it's still somehow using the GPU in some way regardless?

Can you try going into the BIOS:

Advanced -> Chipset configuration -> Primary graphics adapter. Check what it's at and try change it to the integrated gpu?

Later when you plug in a dedicated gpu you'd have to change it back i believe.

Edit: Sorry, just remembered you can't even enter the BIOS.

Yeah when I unplug it I can't enter the BIOS.
I have the primary graphics set to onboard right now though, and as I said I am plugged into the motherboard.

Someone on the internet had the same issue as you and what worked for them was to update their BIOS. So if you plug your gpu back in and flash your BIOS to the newest version it may work. Worth a try.

thank you for the suggestion but I have already tried updating my bios, and it didn't help. ;-;
