So i'll probably be doing a build for my girlfriend in the coming months, and I was wondering how this build is overall, and if the stock amd cooler will fit and work in this case. We're going for budget and speed so I didn't really wanna have to drop extra on a liquid cooler. Thanks for your time!

Here is the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3c0PV

I read this title thinking that you were going to build a girlfriend... I'll look at the build one sec.

Case: Lian Li PC011-D - CPU: 3900x - GPU: 2080ti Reference - Mobo: Gigabyte - Ram: Corsair 4x16gb 3200MHz - SSD: 2TB Samsung Evo NVME

What will she be doing with her PC? Will she need a dedicated GPU (for gaming, etc) or will it just be for browsing the web and other lightly-threaded tasks?

As for a cooler you will be perfectly fine with the stock cooler if she doesn't have plans of using her CPU at over 50-60% loads.

Also, be careful of the update between Girlfriend 4.2 to Wife 1.0. There are a few glitches that can cause nagging 2.6 and the awful virus of "I thought you loved me" 1.3.

This one is better and just under your budget but I suggest that you save a bit more because for $745 you can have a 750 Ti which is faster than the 750. Either way will be better then the APU though and not having an SSD won't kill you.

Well I'd rather have an SSD than a 750ti if I was not gaming personally.

If the goal wasn't gaming then 2133mhz RAM wouldn't have been necessary, not having a proper GPU will affect you more than not having an SSD. A 35-45 second start time is completely fine and still faster than most PC's.

If the goal was gaming than a 1080p monitor would be horrible for that rig since you would have a better experience overall getting 60 frames at a lower resolution. Yes a GPU would be better for gaming but if the OP's girlfriend is not gaming than I'd keep the SSD. If she is gaming then there is no question that the GPU would be better.

She definitely wants to get into gaming but I wanted something that would definitely be able to do light gaming for now, and then we could throw a nice gpu in there somewhere down the road. And I wanted the ssd for stability too. She doesn't know how to fix stuff, and i don't wanna have to go fix it all the time. I figured that would be good for general use and some light gaming until she gets into games that need more graphical power.

she won't need one at first, but i figure we can throw one in later if she ends up getting really into gaming. she'll probably be mostly doing general web browsing and then some light gaming like sims and stuff. and alright i just wanted to make sure it would fit. I heard that case only has 3in of clearance above the cpu and I've never dealt with AMD cpu's before, so idk how big the cooler is.

An SSD doesn't add anything to stability, just speed in this case.

You can always replace the GPU later, but for light gaming, I'd still go for dedicated.

I'd suggest planning later ~2-3 days at most before you buy. Parts and prices change frequently so any parts list you come up with now will likely be obsolete by the time you're ready to buy.
