Something like that would serve just fine. Your system would really only need 400 watts but a 500 has good overhead.

For a 1050 you can get something like a 500 80+ bronze, I had a season 520 once that I even ran a 1080 on fine, so it will 100% run a 1050.

Here is the problem:
Dell likes proprietary.

Before you buy the PSU, open it up and make sure it has standard connectors.

Good point, make sure you buy a PSU that has proper connectors, since its an old pre built.

Buy a GTX1050 or a GTX1650 that does not require additional power connectors. It'll consume less than 75W and a 290W PSU should be able to run it without issues.

Replacing the PSU in a Dell PC sucks. The PSU uses non-standard power connectors to the motherboard so you cannot use any normal ATX power supplies with it without using janky adapters. If it's one of the slim/SFF 9020's then an ATX power supply wouldn't even fit in the case.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

your stock psu can handle rx 550, rx 560, gtx 1050 or gtx 1050 ti just fine. no need to upgrade that.

first of all. that psu is pretty bad. Also that system pulls under 200w depending on the cpu.

it uses 8 pin motherboard power, they make adapters for that, usually 5-10 bucks on ebay or amazon
