ARGB Help Needed

Go to solution Solved by Demonic Turtle,

Hooray I managed to find the name of the connector - JST 2.0 PH 3 Pin. I've ordered a bunch of connectors off amazon and going to splice my own cable.

Thanks everyone

Happy new year everyone,

I'm new to the whole RGB thing and have a Kolink Citadel Mesh RGB case which came with an RGB controller. I got an AIO with RGB for Christmas but it uses the JRainbow connector whereas the RGB controller in my case uses some mini VDG connector that doesn't appear to be standard. (Also note, i'm using a motherboard which doesn't have any ARGB pins so that's not an option.)

I really need to find a cable to convert from this mini VDG thing to JRainbow but I can't seem to find anything. The only thing I have found which looks similar is this diagram from a Sharkoon case manual. The connector on the left side of the board looks just like my connectors.

I really hope I don't have to buy a second RGB controller.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give :-)

Welcome to the confusing world of (proprietary) RGB where almost nothing fits and works together and where the only standard really are no standards.

So, the AIO is meant for a controller on your motherboard, which you don't have. I would see if I could trade that AIO into one with the correct RGB header if I was you if you didn't open the package yet. I don't think you'll find a controller for that. Maybe someone else got a solution for ya.. Sorry...

link to the case and aio thx

if you do have the v-d-g that was discontinued years ago...

as for not having an argb header on your mb your need to buy some sort of controller manual or software.

the key thing is to have all argb devices or all rgb devices not both. you can in most case buy adapters or make them but adds to the total cost.

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx

also i edit post alot because you no why...

Case: https://kolink.eu/Home/case-1/micro-atx/citadel-mesh-rgb.html

AIO: https://uk.msi.com/Liquid-Cooling/MAG-CORELIQUID-240R

So the case has an ARGB controller in it which you can see in this video:

I just want to connect the JRainbow connector to the ARGB controller in the case but obviously I need a converter cable to do that. Really hope someone knows of one.
