B550 memory choise

Hi everyone,

I bought an MSI B550 Gaming Edge WiFI to match today with a 3700X and in the near future with a 5800x to build a PC fo audio and video editing.

I need to buy a 32Gb DDR4 kit but for my uses are better G.Skill TridentZ 3200 CL16 (F4-3200C16D-32GTZKW) at 145€ or Crucial Ballistix 3600 CL16 (BL2K16G36C16U4B) at 156€ ???

Spend the extra 10€ and get the 3600 MHz RAM. Ryzen CPUs love higher frequency RAM.

4x8gb is better if you dont need 64GB anytime soon. I prefer the 3600MHz kit for 10 euros more but you need 4 stick for 32GB these days to make sure you have multiple memory ranks per channel.

Spend the extra 10 for that 3600 RAM. Faster RAM (both in clock and latency) is preferable for Ryzen.

The 3600 CL16 not only get you that higher frequency, you also get 8.8888ns in latency vs 10ns for the 3200 CL16 (lower is better)

Ok, but i have only a problem, in this days i can find only these kits, people under Christmas are like the locusts of the Egypt plague, no more rams in the shops!

I'll try take 2 kit 2x8Gb instead of the 2x16Gb if the price is similar.

Crucial Ballistix usually much better choice for oc. Even the 3000MHz cl15 should be better than that G.Skill kit.

i've found also the 

- Team Group T-FORCE DARK Zα 32GB Kit DDR4-3600 CL18 (TDZAD432G3600HC18JDC01)

- Mushkin Redline memoria 32 GB 2 x 16 GB DDR4 3600 MHz (MRA4U360JNNM16GX2)

at a good price.

2 sets of 2x8gb is not equivalent of a set of 4x8gb, XMP does not guarantee to work with the former.

 

and dont think about overclocking anything 3200MHz CL16 that isnt from Crucial to 3600 or more. They are made with sticks that are rejected from 3600MHz.
