Is it worth upgrading to a 3070 from a 1070? I have a i5 9600k. I'm not sure if its worth it. Should i wait an entire year more until i upgrade my gpu? I currently have a 144hz 1080p monitor. Should i buy a 240 hz monitor instead? Or maybe a new cpu. Like the i9 9900k. Which is at good price point rn. Or maybe a 240 hz monitor. Help would be appreciated.

imo, go for the 3070. i went from a 1070 to 3070, and it was a massive improvement in gaming. but if your gpu is doing fine with the games you play, and a new monitor would benefit you more atm, go for that first. the 3070 runs very well, decent fps, but i don't think you are going to see much benefit above 144hz.

For 1080p you really don’t need a 3070. CPU is fine. But if you really want the frames, go for it.

Depends what games you're playing.

I'd say no to both for 1080p in the vast majority of games currently on the market, you could easily wait another generation without any issues, unless you REALLY want that extra framerate in some games or you actually feel like you're not getting what you want out of PC gaming.

Getting 240hz monitors when you already have a 144hz monitor, would really only be good for highly competitive or very faster paced games. Most games don't even come near that framerate when set at a decent quality settings, so you'd be playing with potato graphics to reach that anyway (except for games like CS:GO).
