Titanfall Server Time Out

I'm not really sure if I should be posting this here, but I just need a fix.

I keep trying to play Titanfall with my friend and as soon as I start loading into the game, the loading screen and my cursor begin to freeze up and my friend gets in the game before me. It will seem like I'm in the server and I choose my custom classes and it tries to reconnect and times out. I recently just can't play at all. I was hearing about server patches, but I still don't seem to be able to connect. Is anyone else getting this issue, and is there any way to fix it?
