Dealing with Racing Thoughts?

OK First of all : Merry Xmass to you all. My isn't doing so good as My Racing Thoughts for unknown reasons just retriggered early. But a few other things added to them. I somewhat  calmer now. My friend I just got of the phone with, I had to explain that I been having the Thought and what they are. And he is adding to them by kept saying That Word and other things that he  has been doing. Which could put him in places where he doesn't be just because he wouldn't stop saying them.

Anyway this isn't about my friend but Me. I was playing a Space Combat game last night that did calm me down. But it did end up adding to the Problem after I got a free Transport ship, due to poor designed Privateer Space game.

Engaging in any Mental active activity will help take control of Racing Thoughts.

I will see the new Person that handles my Meds and asks me about my Mental Illness. And see if I need to have my Meds adjust again. It just could be developing Torrance to my Antidepressant. That does help with Racing thoughts. My MDD hasn't gotten worse.

I do have a few simply Cell Phone Games that could play to help. But I'm not into those of games. But PC Games. But I do want to know which games are good for dealing with my State of Mind now.

Note: anyone can have these without being mental ill. That said:

Anyone know of games on Steam that will help? This can be any game that requires the player to be Mentally active. Any game meeting such requirement will do. I may have a few unplayed games already. Perhaps I need to post I need to post  this in the games section instead. Free and Free to Play Games that I don't have will be preferred as I don't have a active prepaid Debit Card and if I did there  will be no money money on it.

I'll see if I can find any myself.

First of all, good on you for wanting to help yourself and seek help (even if it's just from us). In terms of games, good free ones are few and far between. Some that I've had some good times with are CSGO (even if you don't play online bots are kinda fun), Unturned, and Snow. Of course there's the battle royales (fortnite and the like), and Epic games store gives out free games. Besides games, music is a classic for helping racing thoughts/anxiety. It might also be helpful to journal or something. Even something as simple as deep breathing can help. I hope you can find something that works for you :)

Either @piratemonkey or quote me when responding to me

Thank You. While I have done a few Breathing Excises before. I don't do them very often. I have been afraid to Post anything on any Forums or even talk to people at all. I could post or say anything untended... Like really offensive. Something that will get punched or banned. So I've been rechecking my posts.

So this is really for finding good games for dealing with this. Doesn't have to be Good Games only merely decent to play.

Well I was playing one, I haven't played in awhile. But for some reason it wouldn't launch on the Distro I'm using. Yes it is a Steam game Native to Linux. I will have to post that Distro Forum to find why.

I had Launch the game by hand w/o Steam. I also had to turn off the Steam Controller as well. The Game helped, but I avoided the Boss after losing every time.

I'll play it later. I busy cooking a dish with black beans with canned chicken, baby corn. Onion and other seasonings.

I have a similar issue with racing thoughts, though for me it's more that they seem to jump around from topic to topic extremely rapidly. I have difficulty doing things unless they are extremely immersive.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I'll try to get involved in projects that require a lot of planning. I'll have some idea like "I want to build a server to do XYZ" and then research heavily, install it, configure it, test it, etc. My home network is littered with stuff like that. If you like playing with Linux, something like installing Gentoo or Arch could be one such project (and could be useful too).

One thing that has helped a lot was to listen to Renaissance polyphony. There's something about this that really just works for me, and I don't know why. I just close my eyes and let my mind follow along as each note follows one after another in a sublime pattern. Here's some examples if you want to try it:

Great video explaining polyphony that helped me to focus my mind on it:

Thanks. The Game helps but I have to stop after awhile to avoid getting more annoyed by certain locations in the first Major Area(Chapters?) and by PowerLeveling... Or being returned to the Altar after dying.

Maybe I need find a Point and Click game instead. I have a few of those.

Now I'm listening to the sound of Gentle Rain on YouTube while doing other things. I tryed doing a Breathing Exercise by breathing slowly in and out of my Nose sitting in my Dark Bathroom and my Recliner.

Any Games known to help with this Issue?
