MSI B450 Tomahawk Max BIOS update 7C02v3A2

Hi guys, I updated the BIOS because i was having issues with the LAN adapter. Now i have a problem in the BIOS settings, the option to enable SVM disappeared from the OC advanced (i did set "Expert" in the menu) the menu "CPU Features" does not appear.

I'm an heavy WSL2.0 user and now it doesn't work anymore without virtualization.

Am i missing something or it's a bug in the BIOS release ?

If i go into "CPU Specifications" it shows that SVM is supported

Hey,

i got the same issue :( i had to exchange my MB because my old Tomahawk (without MAX) died two days ago. I put in the MAX and there was the cpu feature option but after updating my BIOS it disappeared :(

i use it a lot for my Win10 VM with GPU Passthrough. Would be nice if someone knows a solution.

cheers

  • 1 month later...

Hi, same problem with MSI B550 Tomahawk, I swaped temporary Ryzen 3 3100 for new Ryzen 7 5800X using same BIOS 7C91vA4 with both CPUs and the "CPU Specifications" is gone! I was using VMware virtual windows7 and now I can't because virtualization is off by default! I was hoping new 7C91vA5 BIOS would make a difference but flashing didn't helped at all..

This leaves me stranded and a little amused, that on 4 core I was able to use virtual machine with 2 logical CPUs and on 8 core I can't even power it on..🙃

Any new info appreciated..thx

The SVM option has been moved into "advanced CPU configuration" which is higher up on the list

Many thx... I'm feelinq embarrasing 'cause I've watched there like 5 times... I's working now! But I had to uninstall VMware Player 15 and install version 16, dunno why, guessing lack of support of last ZEN3 CPUs? 15 was fine with ZEN2. But it's running now!
