Steam gave me 2 copies of a game and One is not for my platform

CoolVengeance

alright, so I took advantage of the sale for the complete series of grand theft auto and when I went into my library to see it, there were two copies.

one is perfectly normal and would let me install it but the other says that it is not available for this platform so my question is that did steam give me a a windows and mac/linux version of the game?

Yes they do give you different OS versions for games (if available) in case you ever switch OSes, or use a computer with a different OS.

GTA: III, Vice City and San Andreas all have a secondary game for the Mac version. That's why you got two copies of them. I had the same thing happen, and I just placed the games in my Junk category in my Steam library.

Right click the game → Select ´Set Category´ → Add a category and place the game in there.

How do you make those categories visible?

After you have followed my instructions, the category should appear in the top you your Steam library. Then you just expand the category by clicking on it.

only happens with GTA, because rockstar is, special...

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

I've done that for a few games, never got it to work.

I only get the default ones, favorites, installed....etc
