Help planning a small, quiet and powerful gaming pc

NguyenAirlines

Hello everyone,

I'm from Toronto, Canada and looking to build a pc centred around a 3070 and 5600x. My budget is $1400 - $1800 CAD. I watched some videos and heard that the 3070 and 5600x go great together but if there are better options please let me know. I need help picking out the motherboard, memory, power supply, and the best 3070 card for my budget. I already have storage, peripherals and the operating system covered. Some cases I was looking into were the Fractal Design Meshify 2 and the Fractal Design Focus G. If there are any better airflow or quieter cases let me know. The main goal of this pc is to be small, quiet, and powerful; all things my current pc struggles with. Some stores around me are Best Buy, Canada Computers and Memory Express.

Thank you to whoever could help me out

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($400.00)
Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($189.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory  ($113.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB Founders Edition Video Card  ($750.00)
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case  ($84.99 @ Canada Computers)
Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  ($118.99 @ Amazon Canada)
Case Fan: Corsair AF120 (2018) 52 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack  ($54.99 @ Amazon Canada)
Total: $1712.95

This would be good. Both the 5600X and 3070 have severe supply shortages and you probably won't be able to fine them for several months unless you are super diligent checking for stock. You may want a RTX 3060Ti if you want to spend less, but it is also out of stock everywhere.

If you want it small, you can change to a mATX or ITX board and a smaller case. It may cost more and the 3070 might not fit.

mATX boards are usually ~$20 cheaper. I would get a B550 mATX Pro4 for the motherboard

But for a small form factor case that is decent, they are often more expensive and harder to find.
