Just need to confirm that Radeon settings and Radeon software are the same thing and by extension Adrenaline edition. Right now I can't install Adrenaline edition or they changed back the name. So also confirm if those are the same thing too.

thanks

first part no idea, AMD software is needlessly confusing...

But I can confirm, if your card isn't ancient, you do need newest "adrenaline" version and nothing else.

Kind of an abrupt jump from Nvidia. I am not saying Nvidia is the gold standard in term of of design and feature, compared to Apple.

I heard about buggy software with AMD. However I didn't expect the driver to completely miss features and be like what is going on.

I didn't mean there's anything missing just that everything is in one driver, and there are indeed several with different names but you just need adrenaline...

pretty sure AMD has more "features" if they work is another question lol...

Yeah, they kind removed the Adrenaline name at this point. Except it is still there in the marketing stuff even inside Software.

I have to clarify that the deriver I initially dowloaded is missing an entire section of features that I had to manualy search for the driver and tried the pro version Radeon Pro whatever to add in the features. Normal feature of capture and streaming, Relive, htough the recoding I think I am still missing. Also hotkey still don't work.

The AMD software is better than Geforce experience in my opinion.

oh maybe it was relive that I used (I had a 5500 xt for a week recently), see that's what I mean they're confusing, changing names all the time...

Gotta say almost everything worked, some things, like the overlay, were really buggy tho, and overall the UI way too overburdened with "features" that don't get explained well etc. basically best to not change anything lol...

recording also worked surprisingly well, but also bugged out often and overall the performance just wasn't there (compared to gtx 1060) in every game I tested.

overall, for the price, I'd give it a 7/10 but the drivers were not a highlight... lol

I much appreciate the separate settings and software it used to have. And overall design is less than Nvidia and if it work, the feature may be more than Nvidia.

@Mark Kaine

Yeah, it is an 5500 for my No gaming rig. The setup have a more nostalgic vibe with few changes(another profile plus some physical objects + some lighting in the home office), so when I do work OR fire up an nostalgically game I use that rig. Be great if it just work.

I actually find myself more on the macbooks than the rig in my office, almost for everything except nostology gaming.

honestly I really liked ATi Catalyst, it was simple and 'just worked' kind of like Nvidia, which didn't change at all from an UI perspective since then, and I quite like it, why change something when it isn't broken.
