3060 ti bad fps? 8600k

in cod black ops cold war I get great fps! well. If I want to play solo. If I start up discord not even in a call I get around 40 and without I get 130

the thing is I get 130 with discord on as well but as soon as I move the mouse it drops. 

I got 100+ easily with a 9600k and a 2070 so why would a 8600k struggle (apparently cpu heavy game) 

how do I fix this if I can.

Does minimizing the windows make a difference? Could be an issue with the GPU drives as discarded likely uses hardware accelerated graphics.

Could be a driver bug idk. I had a lot of issues back in the GTX 770 days but haven't heard bad things about Nvidia launch drivers since.

I mean, I haven't tried minimizing. I'll try for sure but hardware accelerated graphics are off

How did you go about with your GPU upgrade? Did you remove any old drivers?

 

If not this often causes issues, use DDU remove all display drivers, then download the latest for the 3060Ti.

This would be the first step then. Remove ALL Nvidia drivers and restart with a fresh plate.
