I wanna mount my home server to an MDF plank and hang it on my wall. What is it exactly that I need to do to mount the motherboard?

t33to

I'm assuming I can't just get large motherboard stand offs and screw those directly into the wood. I need some threaded inserts right? Would any of you happen to know what size these need to be? I they come in a variety of mm and then there is another number m4, m6 etc. I'm shopping from Canada, so links to amazon.ca or other canadian sellers would be appreciated. I'm also curious, is this the kind of thing I can get at Home Depot?

Bear in mind MDF is shit at supporting weight  and will sag over time, possibly putting stress on your mobo.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

What about melamene?

What would you suggest other than plywood?

It would depend on how "nice" you want it to look.  but what's wrong with plywood?

Nothing really, just figured mdf or melamene would be less work for a nicer finish.

Get a little piece of Oak.

Expensive, but it'll work better in the long term...
