Hey guys. Does anyone of you know what to do when one of my buddies pc suddenly shuts off with a blue screen from windows, with the error code: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL.

We have tried rebooting the whole computer and erasing almost everything from his pc. But none of it has worked yet

Hope you can help as he needs his pc soon as he uses it as a work station aswell

Try reverting any CPU or memory overclocks, including the XMP/DOCP profile for the memory.

did you clear cmos?

IQRL NOT LESS OR EQUAL is a ram problem. Which may mean he needs new ram/

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

You totally sure it is a RAM problem, cause then i will tell him that he needs to buy some new RAM

did you clear cmos? The iqrl is a eindows problem with the ram, so it could be a bad ram seating, which would just need you to reseat ram. It could be a windows install problem so there you would reinstall windows. It could be a bac cpu seating, so try to reseat the cpu. It could be a bad mobo, but thats much less likley. THen it could be bad ram and or cpu.

We have google plenty times and tried to reboot the system multiple times whitout succes. We have also tried some programs that said it would fix it, but it didnt as we expected. We will try re-seating the RAM, and remove the Cmos for 5 min and then come back with an answer to see whether or not it has helped.

Thanks for your help.

well then like the others have said its either bad ram or you can try a fresh windows install. have you tried sticking only one memory module in at a time? could be only one of your sticks is broken and the other one will still work. try it one at a time in different slots. hope that can help
