repair a bricked gpu bios

I'm looking to buy an Rx 480 with a bricked bios because it is really cheap, and searching over the internet I've found that apparently is not that hard to repair it, but I want to make sure it is actually possible to repair it or if I'm taking too much of a risk

no, that's why you buy it cheap. 20 bucks or so? otherwise yeah... it's not guaranteed to work, even though it's theoretically "possible".

You can't really not take a risk, you either take the risk, or buy a working card. Because when buying a card as spares or repair just because the person says it's a bricked bios doesn't mean that it's actually that, maybe they knocked a capacitor off the board, or overclocked the snot out of the card and you can't just return a card because you can't repair it. That's the thing about these cards with 'easy' fixes, there's always a risk.

If you don't have means and knowledge to diagnose and repair, you shouldn't waste money on it.
