3060ti

linusdroppedme

so 3060ti has launched, and luckily i live somewhere where we have an adequate amount of stock, the only problem is, my current setup, as of right now, im rocking a 7700k boosted to 4.5ghz, a single 16gb corsair vengeance stick, Maximus IX hero motherboard, a gtx 1060 strix, which i bought like 3 years ago which still fucking destroys every game i run (100fps, and yes even warzone), a vs 650 powersupply(which i can upgrade if necessary but if not, its aight) and a 1920x1080p 60hz monitor. can you guys find flaws or holes in my system, and one of the comments on my other post in reddit is that, i could upgrade my ram to 32gb, and i was hoping you guys could help me upgrade my rig, my allowance is like 800$

only if you feel like 16gb isnt enough

it should be enough for every game right now

i wouldnt invest in DDR4 anymore, when DDR5 is on the horizon already

unless you need it, or your next cpu upgrade is DDR4

pretty much cpu and monitor upgrade

but if it's still adequate, why upgrade lol

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

i really just want the new cool stuff with the rtx 3000 series, and while i can still get 100fps in many games i dont want it dropping below 60, and with the incoming cyberpunk, im getting quite worried, even though they release the recommended system specs, i still dont trust those LOL,  and my system is getting quite old, cpu wise, i think i could bump it up if i get a better cooler

u can decide to upgrade then if it's no good

the performnce is equivalent to s ryzen 3 3300x in many games, so it's considered low end in today's standard

but very adequate still

again, u can upgrade when you feel like it's not enough, instead of speculating it's not enough :P

When you do upgrade, make sure to buy 2 sticks of ram for dual channel!

after the release of cyberpunk maybe, according to moonzy, which is actually a really great advice, so i could adjust if there anyroom for adjustment, for example, my cpu is is heating up, i could buy a better cooler, and if my 1060 is eating cyberpunk for breakfast, then i think im good

Erm... ok... I'm just going to assume you're buying from amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/GNV32DB-G-Sync-Ready-FreeSync-Warranty-Zero-Tolerance/dp/B087R21CL2/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=144hz+1440+gsync&qid=1606964678&sr=8-3

good warranty, g sync, 144 hz, 1440p, all the things you can want. you can underclock the monitor for whatever fps you get.

This is what G-Sync and FreeSync are for.

I don't even think you can underclock a monitor.

You can overclock one, but I don't think you can underclock one right after it comes out of the box.

It's likely coming out next year when AMD release their new chips

Though it's not confirmed, but it's pretty implied that that's the case
