Where to get a 5950X?

As the title says I am looking to buy a R9 5950X, I have been trying to get one in the UK for a couple weeks now and no luck, the rest of the PC is here and I just need the CPU, is there any news of stock dropping soon or is it worth going to a scalper (I don't wanna do this, but I need a PC as I am stuck on my laptop) as its only £1000 vs £850, which is more than buying a temp CPU just for a couple weeks until I can actually get it.

So big question is, I need a CPU soon, is there any news on when new CPUs will become avaible or not???

The owner of "too many" computers, called

The Lord of all Toasters (1920X 1080ti 32GB)

The Toasted Controller (i5 4670, R9 380, 24GB)

The Semi Portable Toastie machine (i7 3612QM (was an i3) intel HD 4000 16GB)'

Bread and Butter Pudding (i7 7700HQ, 1050ti, 16GB)

Pinoutbutter Sandwhich (raspberry pi 3 B)

The Portable Slice of Bread (N270, HAHAHA, 2GB)

Muffinator (C2D E6600, Geforce 8400, 6GB, 8X2TB HDD)

Toastbuster (WIP, should be cool)

loaf and let dough (A printer that doesn't print black ink)

The Cheese Toastie (C2D (of some sort), GTX 760, 3GB, win XP gaming machine)

The Toaster (C2D, intel HD, 4GB, 2X1TB NAS)

Matter of Loaf and death (some old shitty AMD laptop)

windybread (4X E5470, intel HD, 32GB ECC) (use coming soon, maybe)

And more, several more

Pretty sure there was some stock arrivals at OCUK but those all went to pre-ordered CPUs, the fact some retailers have closed pre-orders means they're probably backed up to after 2021 January, unfortunately there just isn't much stock of it.

Yours faithfully

People make it seem like the Zen 2 parts are completely useless.  You're talking about a 19% IPC gain.  It mainly translates to 1080p, and in some cases 1440p, gaming performance when paired with a very fast GPU.  For 99% of people 99% of the time, or for 100% of people gaming at resolutions higher than 1440p where you're GPU bound, there is no functional difference between Zen 2 an Zen 3.   The Zen 3 hype is too exaggerated IMO.

TL;DR, buy a Zen 2 at discounted prices and enjoy it.  IF you decide you need more perf, then you always have an upgrade path to Zen 3 in a year or whatever when they're widely available and probably discounted.

This isn't a thread about if you think getting ryzen 5000 is worth it this thread is about how op can get a 5950x. If you didn't have any information related to this topic why did you bother to post this?

I got my 5950x for £865 on eBay - about £100 over retail. Depends on how much not having to wait is worth for you, for me I could not be bothered to wait for stock anymore.
