Hey all,

Building my first PC in 7 years.. making a HUGE upgrade to a 5800x (All I could snag atm). Needless to say a complete over-hall is happening here. 

Few questions: 

GPU: TBD (Looking at either 3080 or 6800XT) 

1. For 32gb of ram should I go with 8x4 or 2x16 sticks with Zen 3

2. Does it really matter for everyday use if it's 3200 or 3600ghz? 

MOBO: B550 Gigabyte Aorus PRO AC

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x

Zen 3 benefits from quad channel, so if you don't have any plans to upgrade your RAM anytime soon I would go with that.

2x16gb is almost guaranteed to be dual rank except for recent crucial 2x16gb ballistix kits, which have a good chance to be single sided. cant think of any other kits that are known to use 16gb single rank dimms frequently. hardwareunboxed in particular showed that 2x16gb dual rank 3600c16 was the best value for zen 3, right?

Hynix AMR, CMR and MJR are all 16Gb dies that came out in 2018-2019, 2x16gb kit with SR sticks are way more common than you make it seem...

i've absolutely never heard of those but i'll take your word for it lol. any specific kits that are known to use those? wish we had a b-die finder for all ICs...

no more than than 5% difference for things that get the most benefit, for the most part will be margin of error differences.

It pretty much depends on what gets shipped to the factory that day. Container of CJR? DR sticks. CMR? SR sticks. They're still put into the same binning process and pick and place machines.

Do you think it matters if I get 3200 or 3600 sticks? if they are both CL 16. Will there really be that noticeable of a difference.

They will make some difference, but it will be largely game dependent at that point.
