Is this power supply enough for my new rig ?

Anupam Behera

Budget (including currency): Rupee

Country: India

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hello Guys, I have an old Antec VP500PC Power Supply.  According to this review this is a decent power supply. [https://www.pctekreviews.com/Reviews/VP500PC.aspx]

My query is, can I run

Ryzen 7 3700X [65 TDP] + RTX 3060 ti  [200 TDP]

other components are

2 X 16 GB RAM 3600mhz

2 X SSD

1 X HDD 7.2k RPM

6 X 140mm FAN

or i have to go for lower card such as rtx 2060 supper [175 TDP] or even lower 1660 supper  [125TDP].

Cheers

Where did you get the watts from? The card has not been announced.

Also that is a pretty trash psu I would recommend something B teir in the teir list.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

most of the big youtubers have posted the specs of the RTX 3060ti. [ and RTX 3070 have a 220 watt TDP, so RTX 3060 ti will surely have lower TDP]

I do understand that, if go for a 600watt plus bronze certified PSU that will be good for above configuration. but my 2nd part of question was how far i can go with this old "Antec VP500PC" psu ? if 3700x + 3060 ti is too much, can i go with 3700x + RTX 2060 supper? or 3600 + RTX 2060 supper ? or 3600 + 1660 supper ?
cheers

That PSU is probably enough to run that system barley. I would still highly recommend getting another that’s around 550-650 80+gold.

Well technically you can run the 3700x and a 3060ti but that is not safe. You you would need a significantly worse system to run with that and I think it’s just worth the extra to go with a better psu.

Just take a look at the teir list and get something b teir or higher.
