1440p with 4k monitor harder for gpu than 1440p native monitor?

jayfromfinland

Hi !
Im planning to buy a 1440p monitor for gaming .
Currently im playing with my 4k monitor and forcing games to 1440p resolution .
As the title of this post asks , is forcing 1440p resolution with 4k monitor harder for the GPU than having a native 1440p monitor and running 1440p resolution with it ?

Thanks

Based on experience. I don't have any recorded benchmarks personally, but it's well-known information.

This was proven false

So I tested my self this .
Tested with 4k 60hz in game settings 1440p 60fps ->  and 1440p monitor with same fps cap and other game settings.

GPU-usage dropped 3%

So no , your well known information was nothing .

I can't tell any positive feedback about this forums if there is moderators here who tries to be real experts when they can't provide any solid data before answering to questions like this .
A BIG NO for linustechtips .

Thx for wasting my time
