Ok, so I have a small translation business; I'm a freelancer.

I looked long and hard for a suitable open source CRM, and found one (VTiger, in case you're interested).

Seeing  also work with large files for clients, cloud solutions aren't for me.

I'm stubborn and have installed VTiger on my home server running Debian 10, AMP.

It's working swimmingly, but my box is a bit older, though i otherwise good state, so I'd like to unclutter our place and move the server to my basement on -1, while we live on the 3rd floor.

Cables in the common areas is not an option, nor is a cable down the side of the building.

I've seen power socket adapters like the one below, and my question is: would that work?

My modem is in my house, obviously, and my basement has power, which is after the meter, so I would think that my basement power is is on the same network as my house, right?

Does anyone know whether that would work or not, or can anyone offer an educated guess?

Thanks in advance!

Power adapters are kinda like wifi, some houses they work perfect others they dont.

It all depends on how well and where your wiring is run in your house...

Crossing 3 floors i would certainly not recommend a poweradapter transmisison. Then direct adhoc wifi would even be better.

Pulling a wire for server applications is a must. You WILL NOT get a good enough (at least for my standards) connection any other way.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

this is 100% true, along with the fact that you can't send and receive recieve packets at the same time like you can with ethernet although it doesn't make much difference normally, a high traffic device like a server will experience a slow down.
