App - Uni website into a app?

Is there any way to make my uni website into a app?

 

Like a actual app, not a port of a website like how some people do it.

 

You login with the uni details, and then in the app it shows your timetable for the day, map of the campus, due work, etc.

 

The timetable of the day would be taken from the websites data, and the due work and such etc, i'd just add the map of the campus myself.

 

Is this possible? If so, how, and is there anything i can follow or any wikis etc?

No you can't, you need the access to the DB, which you clearly don't have.

Once you have the DB access, you write down the app code in Android and IOS.

If you get db access, how would that even be given, what would i even ask for, ty

The admin will probably won't give you the access since it's a security risk.

But you can ask them wether they have an API that you can use.

Or maybe you can ask them to make that API for you.

So i should just ask if they have an API of the website they can give to me right, or if they can make it

Yes, depends on they have it or not. Making an API usually doesn't take a long time.

The problem is not all Admins are the developer of the website, or having a programming knowledge.

Consult this with your teacher if this possible or not.

No, there's nothing you can ask for that will permit you to do this. It's an incredible security risk 

 

I can guarantee your universities development and IT teams will not give you access to anything beyond what you already have

How do you intend to get data from your university?

 

Unless they use embedded systems like canvas, you'll have no option for a dedicated application unless the university creates it themselves.

Was thinking there was a concept to get the data from the website, but i don't think so now lol

You can scrape the face of the website and the data you already have access to, but you won't be able to make a cohesive application from any of it

they do have their own app, but it is extremely shitty, thought i could improve it a bit, obviously cant lol
