steam down?

is steam working for anyone else, whenever i try to log into steam it says its having issues connecting to the steam servers and i try to go to their website and that's not working for me either.

Does anyone have any idea why this is occurring? Valve hasn't announced anything like an update, maintenance or Half Life 3 so I'm wondering what's going on with the service...
