F@H Questions

HI there

Im new to folding been doing since linus mentioned something about folding in chrome browser on a livestream and im now using the proper client and its really addicting for some reason :D

I have a few questions first of all

Can a work unit expire say for example I started one today worked on it for a whole day and then it gets to 50% and then leave it for a week and come back to it, will it expire and how will it affect how many points I get?

Is my core i5 3570k and 660ti good for folding or would it be better if I invested in another GPU that will earn me better points?

Im currently getting 20-25000 PDP on my 660ti and like maybe 5000 on my cpu

Thanks guys im currently 919th place in the linus team watch out for me ;)

Yes they expire and the later you finnish them the less points you get.

Yes, if you want to go full hardcore you could get another gpu. I run a 780 and get up to 150k, which is a lot more you see.

cpu work units has a base point value for the work unit that you will recieve as long as you finish the work unit, then ontop of that you recieve bonus points the quicker you finish the wu the more bonus points you get, as far as i remember you don't recieve bonus points on gpu's you only get the base credit, but obviously the faster you finish the wu's the more points you will recieve.

each wu also has a deadline for when you have to finish it, the wu will expire of you exceed that deadline, your 3570k and 660ti should be doing pretty decent, if you find it worth investing more in it, sure go ahead, the more processing power the better, just be aware that 2 gpu's are abit power hungry.
