Wouldn't make much sense. If I where you, I would save up and then build a new rig with 5600x, B550, DDR4 (min. 16gb at 3600 CL16), 6800/3070/6800XT/3080

It's fine to do but a step from a 1070 to 1080 is a very minor performance upgrade. Are you getting it for free or something if so sure why not. If you need to pay for the card then don't bother and save up for something that gives you more than a 10-15% performance increase.

What are you coming out of pocket for the 1080 upgrade?   That will define if it's worth it really.

 

But to answer you, no bottlenecks will occur with either.

well yeah kinda im just trading my 1070 and adding a tiny amount of money to and its a evga 1080 sc

its a pretty good deal actually im trading my 1070 for a evga 1080 sc and just adding a tiny bit of money
