My 144hz Monitor HELP Please

Ham_7

Okay so I have a (Acer GN246HL 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 144Hz 1ms DVI HDMI VGA Immersive 3D Backlit LED Gaming Monitor) the 144hz is connected thru DVI. Not the Hdmi cable. Now can a newer HDMI cable run 144hz or will a displayport 1.4 to dvi work. I got a 3070 and it will not have a dvi port but it has display port.

Just need help on how to get my monitor to 144z.

Newer HDMI should work. DVI is really old and won't get the monitor up to 144Hz I believe.

That monitor supports 144Hz only through DVI.

The HDMI port only supports 60Hz.

So you would need an expensive Displayport to Dual Link DVI adapter that specifically supports 144Hz.

You need a dual link DVI cable for 144hz to work with that monitor it will not run at 144hz with an HDMI cable. A displayport to dual link dvi might work.

Just now, Dango said:

ANY HDMI or DP cable will work. The version is on the Port, not on the cable.

This is wrong since the monitor does not support 144hz over HDMI.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.
