Hi there,

 

I am getting to the end of my tether with an on going issue. This is specific to Chromium based browsers and Windows 10, I have just done a new install of windows 10 on a separate SSD and the problem persists.

 

I am using a desktop computer with an Advent AWCAMHD15 1080P webcam (not the best webcam but was the only one available in the store within my budget), I am unable to access the webcam from inside any chromium or chrome browser, even the latest Edge does not work, although my Snowball microphone does work on voice calls only. 

 

I have tried using firefox and this works like a dream, but all my passwords, saved data and life evolves around Chrome and moving to firefox entirely seems like a tedious task. 

 

I have done much googling since this issue started over a year ago with no real answer. 

 

The one thing that does stand out is in the windows 10 webcam settings Chrome or Edge are not listed as applications allowed to access the webcam and I wonder if this is the cause, see the screenshot below:
