Hello everyone!

I managed to get my hands on the rtx 3070 OC edition from Zotac,

Now I have a couple of questions regarding mobo/cpu upgrade.

Currently, I have a ryzen 7 1700 with a mild overclock to 3.7 ghz not going above 70 Celsius on stock cooler under stress test so that's all fine,

however, I noticed I really can't get the performance out of it where I was hoping for. Now I was thinking about getting a ryzen 5 3600 in combination with my B350 Gaming Pro Carbon from MSI.

This would be the cheaper option obviously since that would cost me around 199 euro. The question is can I put a ryzen 5 3600 in a B350 board?

The second option would be to get a ryzen 5 5600x that's going for around 319 euro where I can't get my hand for now. But then I would still need to get a new motherboard which is easily another 100 euro.

So I'm looking at a easy 420-430 euro upgrade for those 2, I'm aware the pcie 4 would benefit my 3070 more but is it worth it?

B350 dosnt support Ryzen 3000 nativly, but some manufactors like ASUS or MSI has BIO Version for that combo

look at the Mobo Manufacture Webside

the Expenisve upgrade path would be somekind Future proof, and only ober the years worth the money

only you can decide, its your money

MSI says it can use a 5 3600. Just make sure you update bios

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Indeed! That's what I was thinking as well but it's a good 200 euro difference.

And not trying to waste too much money during the lockdown situation here in Belgium.
