Does adding an HDD to your system slow down your computer?

Forum_user

Hello, I would just like to know if adding an HDD (when you already have an SSD) slow down your performance of the computer. I heard this somewhere and I want to know if it is the truth or if it is a myth.

Only the stuff you actually install on your HDD will be slower. When all important stuff is on your SSD you're fine.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Boot your system from an SSD and it will have the same speed as an SSD no matter how many HDD's you plug in to the other ports

Also just a tech tip ; defragmenting your HDD regularly (or auto setting them to defragment) improves speeds quite significantly, even if booting from a HDD
