monitor wont run on 144hz

I previously had a 1060 6gb which i used to run to my monitor(BenQ XL2411) using a DVI-D connector. However after upgrading to a 3070, I bought a displayport to DVI-D cable but my monitor is still capped at 60hz. Is there anyway i can get around this?

Open NVIDIA control panel, go to the change monitor resolution thing, then select the 144Hz refresh rate option.

I have tried that, it wont let me select 144hz

Create a custom resolution then.

You'll have to hit "Apply" without changing anything, then hit "Customize", then change the refresh rate to 144 Hz, then apply it, save it as a custom resolution, then select that.

Boom.

144 Hz refresh rate.

I got 5 more Hz from my 1080p 60Hz panels this way :)

you need an active adapter cable, even with the correct pinout on the dvi adapter it can't necessarily handle the correct signal.

 

It's a pain in the ass to get DVI 144Hz monitors working on modern GPUs without DVI.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

get a black screen when I try and do that

hmm i had simillar problem, but with sapphire rx 5600xt, i fixed that problem by gpu bios update.
