what about laser printing, I think that will last longer

Yes, laser engraving is a good option, very cheap, but you can only do one colour. If you don't mind, you can get a cheap laser engraver

Yes But I want to sell them with my logo on them, so I want them long lasting for the Customers

Laser engraving will last basically forever, but there is no colour. If you don't need colour, then an engraver would be perfect, else you would need a vinyl cutter or DTG printer

Also you don't have to buy the machinery your self, you can buy the vinyl cut for you

So basically vinyl or dtg = colour but not as long lasting and laser = grayscale but long lasting

Laser engravers basically burn into the metal or material, using a laser which burns it at high precision. It is mainly used for wood and acrylic to cut through, but also can engrave on metal depending on power

So laser printers don't actually use lasers?

Laser printers or engravers

Laser printers work totally differently and are very complex machines

No worries, there are laser T-shirt printers but not for flash drives I'm afraid

A DTG printer of Laser engraver can be used for that

One more thing I found this link for coloured engraving:

You could try, but as far as I am concerned that would require more expensive equipment

You cant really engrave on a t-shirt (well I guess you could try, but it would require a lot of tuning) however a vinyl cutter and heat press would be perfect for that

Those swivel usb drives with logos are really common and available online from multiple companies. We use cheap ones at work if we need to give files to customers etc, I don't trust them as a personal use drive.

I suspect they're just storeronts with chinese based suppliers that do the printing/engraving from factory.

Just get quotes, any alternative printing or engraving done yourself manually is going to work out more expensive than a bulk order.
