How is the isp delivering the internet to your hourse?

5ghz is a frequency, lots of different standards go over that spectrum. AC wifi runs over 5ghz connections, so you have have both.

Now I have 5G, but I dont know if I should go on AC.

I dont care about speeds or price. I just want to know what is more stable.

Well wired is more stable.

But AC and 5GZ are used at the same stime, so there not exclusive.

Might as well go ax now if your getting new stuff.

the newest version of wifi, also called wifi 6

What clients are you using? Devices run at the fastest speed supported by both the client and the access point.

I am getting through my divices 1gbit. So I am ok with that. Main router is edgerouter x.

It'd probably be easier if you just linked your providers page.

Your not gonna hit 1gbit on wifi though in real world uses, 500mbit is a pretty good case real world.

Hello,
my internet provider is offering 5G wireless connection (5Ghz) and AC wireless connection (IEEE.811.ac). Which is better?
Thanks for future advices and sorry for my bad english :D

The 5GHz band is faster but has a shorter range, whereas the 2.4GHz can go further but not as fast. The AC wireless standard is able to utilize both depending on the device you're using and the capabilities of your router; it can intelligently switch between each as your distance varies from the source. So the question can't really be 'is 5Ghz better than AC', because 5GHz operates on the AC wireless standard so it can't be 'better', it IS an essential part of the protocol itself.

So I guess if your provider is offering it, it can be most beneficial especially if you have multiple devices connected to your router and you can utilize the speeds it offers.

How can I know if you can use ac if you don't say which access point or clients your using?

What wifi standard are you using now?

I am not talking about my WIFI at home. I am talking about internet provider, what he offers. I am connected via ethernet to my main router and using 5GHZ connection from my ISP. Is it clear now?

You said you have cable or fiber and your own router, so your isp shouldn't be doing any wifi for you, is that right?

What is the isp offering you exactly?

And only asking if it is better to get from them AC instead of 5Ghz.

ac is 5ghz only. Its not a or with those 2 things.
