is the ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac good enough?

so i will be building a pc soon with either a r7 3700x or a (not yet released) r5 5600x

 

in the netherlands prices are kinda different from other countrys but i came across this board.

ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac

Is it a good board? or are vrms bad (i dont even know what vrms are but ppl online saying that stuff sometimes)

 

or should i spend 20-30 more on a X570 mobo (im not trynna spend any more as its already expensive but if i have to im willing to spend more)

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

vrms across basically every b550 are fine for mainstream chips, theyre pretty overbuilt in general for this generation.

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D

thats a micro itx mobo tho, isnt that too small for an atx build?

not really, matx is just an atx board with the extra slots cut off. unless you plan on using sli or crossfire, matx is perfectly fine. and matx boards/cases are super cheap, probably save 50 bucks over a comparable atx combo

My friend has that exact board running on a 3700x. So it should be fine.

Micro-ITX, ITX, and Micro-ATX are different form factors.....

Standard / full-size / ATX and micro-ATX is the same, just shorter vertically.

Standard ATX is 7-slots length long, while micro-ATX is 4-slots length long.

In any situation, 99% of computer cases / chassis that support standard ATX, will also support Micro-ATX. 

 

If you are going to be using just one graphics card, and with minimal (or no other) expansion cards, standard ATX or Micro-ATX won't matter.
