1080 vs 1440

Im planning on getting a new monitor in the somewhat near future, and I was wondering, is there a significant difference between 1080 and 1440 on a 34" monitor? I don't think I've ever seen 1440p or if I have i don't remember

Id go 1440p for sure. 1080p is pretty low for 34in when viewing like text.

34" ?  Ultra wide?

 

I went from a 32" 16:9 1080p monitor to a 32" 16:9 1440p monitor and I can see a significant difference in image clarity.

Wouldn’t go much over 27 for 1440 myself. 
Really depends on use and if you need that aspect.
