New Build Query

welshmanofwar

Budget (including currency): £800-£900

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming.  Future releases to play would be Cyberpunk and COD Cold War.  Current titles would be Warzone

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have the below as a possible idea for a setup but wanted to seek advice: -

Corsair SPEC-05 Case

Corsair TX850M 850W PSU

Cooler Master 240R CPU Cooler

Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR4 3200MHz 8GB x 2 RAM

Ryzen 7 3800 XT

ASUS ROG Strix B550-F

Roughly totalling £912.98 on PCWorld (haven't price checked elsewhere yet, but i also have a 7% discount code for PCW so total would be around £849.07)

I already have a 1050Ti GPU, and know this will need to be upgraded, however i wanted to get the PC setup using the 1050Ti for now, and then look at a GPU upgrade next payday.

Already have a monitor (nothing snazzy at 4k, so nothing beefy required for that), and have keyboard and mouse as well.

XT CPUs are not worth buying, unless the 3700X is barely cheaper.

Faster memory will be worth it for games, like 3600MHz CL18

B550-F is usually an overpriced board for what it offers, but that I cannot check

A card as expensive as the current list will be needed if you go new for 4k :P

Apologies, by (nothing snazzy at 4k) i meant that the monitor i have is not 4k, so won't need anything that needs to push at 4k.

The price difference on PCWorld between the 3800X and 3800XT is around £15, so there's not much difference.

The B550-F was £176 - any suggestions on a decent alternative MB?  I'm not too savvy when it comes to MB's as i've never built a comp from scratch.
