Are you using Ryzen? If so use the Ryzen overclocking utility to get a perfect Ryzen overclock.

Cas latency is just another timing latency, doesn't mean much in terms of performance as long as your ram is running stable at whatever speeds you have it set at.

I am using ryzen thanks for the input

NOT TRUE

Ryzen gain most performance from reduced latency and faster speeds. well at least up to 3800mhz max.

Looking to upgrade ram to either 32gb-64gb for editing/gaming. Does Cas latency matter that much? Seems the bigger the ram stick, the higher the Cas latency. What do you guys use?

Thanks

you'll want 3600mhz cl16 or tighter

2x16 or 4x16 is the "biggest" i'd use, personally i'd go for 4x8 cl14

This is the typical "I watch tech youtubers" comment. It just isn't true. Look at benchmarks. Less than 1 fps difference in games, within the margin of error even with ram speeds set to 4400mhz.

first 4400mhz is not locked to the IF. Locked frequencies preform better.

Maybe you should watch more videos, because you are incorrect
